longer a product lasts the less waste winds up in our landfills and fewer natural resources
are used to replace what we have just thrown away. We build our cabinets to last for generations.

½" backs and drawer bottoms
All joinery dadoed and glued
All drawers are Solid wood
All drawers are dovetailed
All doors are mortise and tenon
We use only Blum Hardware (blum.com),
the highest quality hinges and slides on the market.

CONVENTIONAL CABINETRY

½" sides and bottoms

All joinery stapled and hot glued
Plywood, pressboard and solid materials
Some are stapled, some are dovetailed

A products carbon footprint is defined by the distance all it's components have traveled from raw
material to finished installation. We believe that the only truly green product is a local product.
That's why we source and work locally.

VERMONT GREEN CABINETS

All locally sourced products with the exception of the hardware.

PLYWOOD:

We use Leeds certified Formaldehyde free plywood only. FSC plywood available on request. MSDS information available on request.

HARDWOODS:

Hardwoods sustainably harvested from local woodlots in Vermont land use program with chain of custody documentation.

FINISHES:

We use Vermont Natural Coating (vermontnaturalcoatings.com) to enhance and protect our cabinetry. We have found these to be the most durable and beautiful finishes available. Our stains and dyes are low VOC waterborne products as well. MSDS information available on request.

TRANSPORT:

We source locally. This means that we have researched thoroughly the distance our materials travel to provide you with the most carbon neutral product available. All the protective coverings used for transport are reusable.

CONVENTIONAL CABINETRY

FINISHES:

Extremely high VOC Nitrocellulose Lacquer finishes. These finishes are proven carcinogens. They continue to off gas toxic vapor for many months after the cabinets are installed. MSDS information available on request.

TRANSPORT:

No consideration given to carbon footprint. Cabinets will arrive wrapped in plastic and cardboard.
